Student Life and Support

Sporting Activities

At Aspire, we don’t expect you to spend your entire life with your head buried in a book! Our students are able to enjoy the rich social and sporting life available daily during the term. Activities include: Rugby, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Swimming, Table Tennis, Soccer, Running Club, Swimming Club, Yoga and Zumba.

You can also take advantage of weekend trips to the snowfields and north coast. Take a day trip to the central coast to go whale watching, to hike the Blue Mountains, explore the Jenolan Caves or visit the Hunter Valley for a wine tour.

Cultural Activities

The SRC holds themed events such as talent shows, karaoke, cocktail and movie nights. For the more classically-minded, there are opportunities to attend concerts and plays in Sydney theatres, open-air venues and even the Sydney Opera House.

The SRC plays two important roles:

  • The SRC represents student views on academic issues to the college. This not only gives students the forum to air their view but also gives the College valuable feedback when planning for the future.
  • The lighter, social side of the SRC has a critical role in the social life of the College. At the college, the SRC organizes parties like Icebreaker, end of term parties and regular Friday night get-togethers.

Student Support

Aspire remains committed to the physical and emotional health and well being of our students. If you feel overwhelmed at any time, or a personal problem arises, you can speak to our Student Services staff who can help and guide you in finding appropriate help.

Aspire offers a wide variety of support services for students. The Academic Learning Centre is open from Monday to Friday every week of the trimester, and provides opportunities to develop your academic skills and prepare you for the cultural change to tertiary student life. Weekly English workshops are run during each term.

Orientation Week

The Student Experience Department organises an action-packed Orientation Week (O Week) to introduce new students to life at Aspire and help them settle in. This week-long event is filled with important information sessions and fun team building activities. These are just a few of the things you’ll do in O Week:

  • Officially enrol and get your timetable
  • Go on guided tours of the campus, Manly and Sydney
  • Meet other students with team building exercises, sporting activities and social events
  • Find out more about your program of study from our Head of School
  • Prepare for an exciting and busy trimester at Aspire
