English for Provisional Enrolment – Diploma Programs

Provisional enrolment is intended for applicants who meet the academic admission requirements for the Diploma but have an English language score that is below IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) but above or equal to IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent).

The Admissions Office determines eligibility for provisional enrolment. Students admitted under provisional enrolment must attend supplementary English language classes as prescribed in their Letter of Offer. Students must satisfy the ICMS English Language Proficiency requirement typically required for enrolment in a Diploma program (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) before provisional enrolment can be converted to full enrolment.

A student who achieves the required English Language Proficiency requirement (as evidenced by an IELTS score or equivalent) before commencing their studies will be admitted under full enrolment.

A student may take an Aspire administered test of English language proficiency before or during their period of provisional enrolment. However, students must take a test of English Language Proficiency at the end of their first term of studies. Students who have not met the ICMS English Language Proficiency requirement at this time will remain on provisional enrolment and must continue to attend supplementary English language classes as a condition of their enrolment.

Students on provisional enrolment for the second term of their studies may take an Aspire administered test of English Language Proficiency at any time and must take this test at the end of their second term if it has not been taken and achieved the required English language proficiency. Students who have not met the ICMS English Language Proficiency requirement at this time may be excluded from their course.
