APPLICANTS WITH WORK AND LIFE EXPERIENCE (completed secondary education more than two years ago)
Applicants, who are over 18 years of age, and completed secondary education more than two years ago, may be eligible for admission based on specific work and life experience.
Undergraduate applicants are required to provide evidence of at least two years of full-time paid work experience. This evidence must be well documented and include the following:
- a CV/resume
- at least two reference letters or statements of service
- job descriptions; and
- a completed Statement of Purpose eForm
Statements of service or signed reference letters must be on company letterhead. If an applicant has been self-employed, they should supply a statement from their accountant, solicitor or tax agent.
However, it is not recommended that applicants just rely on work experience, and should consider supplementing it with the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) . STAT is a national test designed to assess the aptitude of students seeking admission to tertiary education courses in Australia for those who do not have the formal entry requirements. For non-school leavers, the Institution accepts results from the STAT multiple-choice test as an alternative means of entry if the applicant is applying on the basis of work experience. STAT score required for entry is 140.STAT results are valid for two years.
Applicants may also wish to provide evidence of formal, informal or non-formal study, completed or partially completed, which demonstrates a reasonable prospect of success in the course applied for.
All evidence provided by the applicant will be verified for authenticity.
