Advice to students taking the Aspire pathway Qian chose?
If you want to achieve your academic and career goals, the Aspire pathway is an excellent way to do this.
Don’t shy away from engaging with others, such as your peers, teachers, and mentors. Active participation in class discussions, asking questions, and seeking guidance from your lecturers will help you gain a deeper understanding of topics and provide you with new perspectives.
Collaborative learning is highly encouraged as it allows you to exchange ideas with others. This will contribute to your academic success and personal development.
Also, it is important to define your academic and career aspirations early on in your studies. This knowledge will help you choose relevant courses and opportunities that align with your personal and professional goals.
Looking forward to going straight into the second year of a bachelor degree
As I start my second year of an ICMS degree, I am most looking forward to the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subjects.
With this internship built into my degree, I’ll gain hands-on experience and use the knowledge I’ve gained in the classroom to apply to real-world situations.
I’ll also be able to network and make connections that will not only help my academic journey but also better prepare me for my future career in the fashion industry.
Why Aspire first?
As an Aspire student, I received a lot of support during my academic journey, for which I am very grateful.
I want to express my appreciation for my management lecturer, Lydia Befekadu. Her influence on my educational experience has been profound. Not only is she warm and friendly, but she also shared her wealth of personal experiences in the classroom and provided me with invaluable academic guidance.
Lydia didn’t just stop there. She also shared her insights from the management industry, which enhanced my understanding of career prospects and how to succeed in my future professional journey. Her unwavering support and guidance have instilled greater confidence in me, equipping me for future employment.
In addition to having an amazing lecturer, ICMS provided me with a culturally inclusive campus where I was able to form meaningful connections with classmates from around the world.
Despite coming from diverse backgrounds and pursuing various majors, we were able to join forces to learn, engage in stimulating discussions, and collaborate on projects. These friendships not only enriched my college experience, but they also contributed to our collective growth.
Overall, my Aspire experience has been greatly shaped by the wonderful people I have met along the way. I am thankful for the opportunities I’ve had to learn and grow, and I am excited for what the future holds.
